Peter began his career in 1972 as Chief Dealer at First Chicago Dublin, where he founded the bank's dealing room, growing it to become one of the most respected in Dublin. After two years, Peter progressed to Head of Foreign Exchange at First Chicago London where he stayed for a further three years.

In 1979, Peter founded Godsell (Ireland) Money Brokers and became director of Godsell & Co London in 1980. He acquired Godsell (Ireland) in 1983 when it became Caradas Money brokers and then sold it in 1989 in a management buyout.

Whilst working with Caradas in Dublin, Peter co-founded Kalahari.  In 1991, as the market was expanding, Peter moved to the UK to take a more hands-on role in the company, bringing it from a small one-product company to its current state.

Peter graduated from Queens University, Belfast, with a BSc in Economics.
